Ever since my putting hands on a Leica M digital rangefinder, I was deeply obsessed with its portability, maneuverability as well as invisibility. I was challenged to see, to compose and to count the moments after moments. I have to admit, there is no other camera that can have such big magic pushing me forward to enhance my skills and sensibility. From crop-sensor to full-frame, the challenge from M8 to M9 is kind of huge, especially using wide angle prime lenses. The focal distance, the focus and the depth of field all evolve accordingly, I need to see wider, focus more accurately and carefully to achieve sharp imagery. Based upon these, I took two photo walks in the past weekend, the first one is at my favorite and nearest practice field, Frear Park. As shown in the following series of images, the tonality and color depth rendered by M9 CCD sensor is breathtaking, and the broad dynamic range remains. In order to force my eyes wide open, I used my Carl Zeiss ZM 28 f/2.8 lens on the M9 so almost everything I saw in the M9 viewfinder from edge to edge was more or less included in the captured frame, which made it necessary to be aware of the frame edges and corners. Below are a few of my favorite frames from that evening during the sunset golden hours.
