After quite some time, Dream Catcher Project came back with a new beautiful model - Amber and this time I had a big challenge to face a miserable cloudy day. Yes, not a single beam of natural sunlight is available there, so I lost my ability to shoot in natural light. And that's how my new handy video light came in and played the major role in this new portrait session. ICE LIGHT, which is designed by legendary wedding photographer Jerry Ghionis and sculpted by Westcott, is really one of the best portable video lights in the current market. The biggest advantage of this light is to easily create the lighting wrap effect, which easily adds texture and dimension into each frame. Besides, the accurate daylight white balance made it absolutely convenient to set the correct white balance on your camera and move on. No more green tint, no more hybrid colors, and no more complicated tweak in Lightroom. As you can see from the frames below, with ICE LIGHT, I greatly expanded my capability of maneuvering the available light and now I can be so confident to capture beautiful portraits in stunning texture and depth at any time and in any locations.
