The Fuji Finepix X100s is the camera that I didn't care at first glance, even when it was backordered for quite some time and was anxiously sought after by a lot of professional photographers. I don't know why I always doubted the capability of small "point-and-shoot" cameras, maybe I am too picky about its performance compared to my big DSLRs as well as the image quality produced. I felt that my opinion was right until my hands on this small gadget.
Fuji X100s is AMAZING!!! After shooting this only in NYC and Jersey City for a whole day, I can tell a bunch of reasons why this one is absolutely different and revolutionary in my mind. I never imagined Fuji could squeeze so many powerful functions into such a tiny body, making it even more powerful than lots of entry-level and middle-level DSLRs in many aspects, including manual focus, ISO performance, Film Simulations, etc. The color rendering and sharpness directly out of the camera is speechless!!! The moment you saw the image in your viewfinder, you would say "WOW" to yourself. Compared to its former version X100, I feel that X100s is more like X200 instead of the modified version of X100. It's absolutely way better than X100, and you definitely need to throw away your sluggish X100 and throw more money in to grab this X100s. It's simply not only about adding the "s", the upgrading and reinventing features are beyond your imagination. Until now, I still haven't tried out all of those cool functions like ND filter and advanced filters (like tilting effects), but this machine has already made me believe it will become the best option in any traveling photographers' gear list for a long time.
Born in a classy look, Fuji X100s has brought me back the strong desire and prime freedom of shooting and burning like those in the old days, and now I can give myself one more reason to fall in love with traveling ~~~
