Last week, I drove to Groton CT to attend the 9th Mystic Seminars specifically for wedding photographers for the 1st time. I didn't intend to go to this seminar in the first beginning, as I was planning to go to Vegas for the 2014 WPPI. But suddenly my buddy Ryan cancelled his trip plan to be there with me, so I decided to give this seminar a try instead. Man, I have to say what an amazing experience!!! I never thought it would turn out to be so inspiring, interesting and passionate. Not only did I make a bunch of excellent photographer friends there, but also learnt quite a lot of new tips, techniques as well as business ideas from top professionals in this industry. Great appreciations are given to the organizer Walter van Dusen and all of the wonderful speakers there.
Mystic Seminars last for 4 days, beginning with a critique session in the morning and a breakout session in the afternoon at Day One. Among 6 different breakout sessions, I chose Brian and Allison Callaway's engagement portrait session. As two of the top professional and award-winning wedding photographers, Brian and Allison have rich experience of making engagement session enjoyable for the clients and profitable for the photographers. I can't thank them enough for their generous sharing of knowledge about engagement planning and shooting. Some tricks are absolutely priceless, such as how to make as many different kinds of photos as possible in a very short period of time, how to make the frames that clients will definitely love and buy in the end, how to make clients look happy, silly, funny and pretty in this session.
