During the 2nd day of our short travel, we visited the famous Ivy League university - Columbia University. Its campus is really small, whose highlights are two grand library buildings of expected delicacy inside, but we were forbidden to get in by the guard at the door. So I didn't get many interesting shots there. Instead, we came across a grand and beautiful cathedral on our way to the Chinese restaurant - Columbia Cottage. The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine is the biggest church I've ever seen after coming to the U.S., and immediately I felt there might be no better place than here to hold a Mass or wedding. The church had a long history for design and building, after which a big fire almost tore it apart in 2001. At present, it was still under reconstruction and looking for donations. I was really impressed by the acoustic quality of this church once I heard the Gregorian chants by the choir there, which seemed to be able to comfort any human beings inside. I couldn't help pressing my shutters to record the beauty and grandness of this historical architecture.
