When people asked me, Qing, what was your style or people told me they liked MY style, I didn't know what to say. What is my style? Texture, dimension and mood? That's the essence I'm always looking for and working on, but that can't define what is my style. After shooting for quite some time, I finally realized that I actually didn't have a style. I broke my rules, my methods, as well as my ways of thinking frequently, including the use of light, color, composition and emotion, etc; basically everything. I a word, I'm not a kind of photographer who would love to do same shoots once and once again. I kept pushing myself to have new ideas, and striking to make new breakthroughs.
I knew Maggie before she added me on Facebook, from my assistant Kevin's portfolio. Maggie is such a cute and beautiful girl, always full of joy and sunshine on her cheek. And she looked peaceful and delicate to me, like a fairytale princess. After the session with April, Kevin and I suddenly got into the conversation about the experience of shooting senior girls. And then shooting Maggie came into our plan, making it a new episode of my personal Dream Catcher Project. Thanks to the trust and collaboration of Maggie with her mother, she invited us to the beautiful Caroga Lake in a hot sunny day. There is even a desolated old Sherman park there, where we made quite a few interesting shots. Like what I thought about Maggie, she is elegant, so when I asked her if she could mirror me and be posed to be dancing in the cloud, she immediately fell in love with this exciting idea. As you will see below, I enjoyed the final results played by Maggie under the assistance of Kevin quite much. Ever since the session of Alysha Lee last year, I again achieved another really colorful and beautiful outdoor portrait session, which I am sure will enjoy for a long time.
